The Center for Emotional Healing, LLC is proud to partner with Region 10 Public Schools to provide outpatient mental health services to students directly within their schools.​ As a Connecticut based mental health group practice with our main office located right here in Burlington, we are especially excited to bring this program to our local community.​ Our goal is to make quality mental health care easier for children and families to access by reducing barriers such as transportation, scheduling, and time away from work.​

How It Works

​

Region 10 students can attend regularly scheduled outpatient therapy appointments with a C4EH clinician conveniently during the school day right in their own school. Families interested in services can get started by speaking with their child’s school social worker or school psychologist, or by completing the C4EH Family Referral Form directly (found at the bottom of this page).​ Once a referral is received, our team will contact the parent or guardian to complete registration and discuss next steps.​ The therapist will connect with the parent or guardian before beginning regular sessions with the student to learn more about their concerns, needs, and goals for treatment.​ Once services begin, the student will meet with their C4EH therapist at their school on a regular basis.

The Center for Emotional Healing accepts most major insurance plans.

School-based counseling is an outpatient mental health service provided by C4EH and is billed through the student's health insurance.​

• Is this the same as seeing the school counselor, social worker, or psychologist?

​

No. C4EH is an independent outpatient mental health practice partnering with Region 10 Public Schools to make outpatient therapy more accessible to students. C4EH therapists do not replace the supports already available through your child's school. Instead, they provide an additional option for students who may benefit from ongoing outpatient mental health treatment.

• Does my child need to have a serious mental health concern to participate?

​

No. Students may benefit from therapy for many different reasons, including anxiety, stress, ADHD, self-esteem, family or peer challenges, life changes, grief, trauma, depression, or simply needing additional emotional support.

​

• Will my child miss class?

​

Appointments take place during the school day. C4EH and school staff will work within the school's procedures to allow students to attend their scheduled appointments.

​

• How long are appointments?

​

School-based therapy sessions are generally approximately 30 minutes. Appointment length may vary based on the student's age, needs, school schedule, and clinical circumstances.

​

• Do parents participate?

​

Yes. Parent involvement is an important part of treatment, particularly for younger children. Your child's therapist will communicate with you and may schedule parent or family appointments when appropriate.

​

• Does insurance cover school-based therapy?

​

C4EH accepts most major insurance plans. These are outpatient mental health services provided by The Center for Emotional Healing, LLC and are billed to the student's insurance just as they would be if services occurred at one of our office locations or via telehealth.

• Are my child's therapy sessions confidential?

​

Yes. Your child is a client of The Center for Emotional Healing, LLC, and their clinical record is maintained by C4EH. Information is handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws and professional standards. There are circumstances in which information may need to be shared for safety or as otherwise permitted or required by law.

• Can we continue therapy when school isn't in session?

​

Yes. Being a Region 10 student does not limit your child to receiving therapy only during the school year. When clinically appropriate, services may continue during school breaks and summer through available C4EH service options.
